16 Oct 09: The magic hour in Chorley

I had spotted this place whilst out with my horse, Billy.  Being on horseback meant that I could see over the high stone wall that surrounds the lodge.  On a still day with then light low in the sky there were some lovely reflections on the water.  Unfortunately, when I finally got there with the camera there was a breeze and the water wasn't still enough.  However, as I was really there for the magic hour I tried a few photos anyway (all at f/5.6 and 1/250sec).  They are not what I was hoping for and even manipulating them in lightroom I couldn't really get what I wanted.  In the end I settled for just adjusting the tone curve slightly, but they don't really catch that golden light.




At least I got a good pic of Billy:
