09 Nov 09: Shutter speeds and water

A slow shutter speed can be used to create an attractive milky effect with running water.  These are some images I took in the park, having swapped the macro lens for a standard 28mm lens:
f/20 1/15 sec
You can see below that as the shutter speed slows the water becomes more translucent and milky
f22 1/4 sec
The images below were taken with a shutter speed of 1/2 second:
